“THE GRASS ISN’T GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE” IS THE OBVIOUS CONCLUSION TO COME FROM LOOKING AT CECILIA LUNDGREN’S NEW FURNITURE LINE. The exciting new “Greener Grass” product line suggests that we can either look upon life from a rather greyish perspective – or from a more colourful one. We simply choose that for ourselves. It takes but a fraction of our lifetime to observe the furniture, though it’s design speaks of eternity. 26 year old Cecilia Lundgren received her BA at Kalmar Design University, Sweden, and her Master from the Domus Academy in Milan, Italy. Her exam work in 2007 focused on the elements time and catching the moment, resulting in a sofa developed in co-operation with the renowned Natuzzi. Cecilia Lundgren’s new series of furniture is a naturally logical continuation within this process, though now time is seen from quite another point of view - the lifelong perspectives and eternity of time. Endless eco-cycles are the model for interpretation of eternity; in the form of a sofa and a matching lounge chair. Whatever we do influences the future like a perpetual and ever dynamic domino effect. Depending on our frame of mind, we experience the process as either positive or negative, or a mix of both. Even if something may appear grey and gloomy, we may be persuaded that, at the same time, it brings a positive message even if we do not see it instantly. Whether we see life as grey or as a greener grass in our own pastures, is rather a question of our own interpretation.
