The designer of Union Products, Jangir Maddadi, has launched to market a new desk that brings a whole new level of flexibility, freedom, and productivity to the office.

"The work place has changed. With more people being demanded to multi-task, handle clientele, work in teams, and keep it all organized, I saw a need to rethink the design of the traditional desk", says Jangir Maddadi. As a part of the Union philosophy to enhance and liberate the way people interact, the designer sought to understand how his unique tri-circular shape could benefit people at work to improve their productivity and offer greater flexibility. "Each area or zone of the desk is a chair swivel away, and gives the user a chance to focus and zone in on a particular task without the need to reshuffle his or her desk. Once you have actually tried it, you will be surprised just how natural it feels and how immediate and obvious the benefits are", says Jangir.

Jangir also points out that the Union desk enhances the quality and excellence of your work. The materials and design are certainly ergonomic, without any sharp corners in sight, and with a low height profile to ensure that the elbow is kept raised above the wrist at normal seating position to ensure comfort. "This avoids strain and i mproves posture when writing or working behind the computer screen", says the young designer. Centralized leg supports accompanied by wide base supports also allow freedom of leg movement and greater desk-surface usage. A single desk can comfortably support up to 3 dedicated users.

The Union desk is a whole new way of working. Conventionally desks are placed up against walls and people work huddled in their own space in an isolated fashion. This is all broken by the union design thats circular natural form means it goes towards the centre of the space. That means you get to enjoy the environment more and can adjust for the changing dynamics around you.
