My work explores the relationship between natural objects such as flowers or fruit, and the contrasting qualities of silver, bringing the two together to create a single display piece, where both elements are of equal visual importance.
With my vases, I discover new forms by examining the physical requirements of a container for cut flowers and exploring how the form of the container can control or affect the arrangement of the flowers. Rather than the vase merely performing the physical function of containment, the resulting composition is one in which the metal and the flowers combine to form a single, sculptural ‘object of beauty’.
