The Kartell museum tells the story and the identity of the Kartell firm, founded in 1949 with the objective of creating design objects in plastic. The foundation proposes itself the aim of diffusing to the public, the knowledge of industrial design and the processes of aesthetic-products linked to it.
Many of them on display in the museum are products signed by Kartell. The collection is made up of different typologies of objects (auto-accessories, domestic objects, lights, instruments for laboratories, furniture and furnishing pieces), which are all displayed chronological order.
The walls of the display are characterised by a synoptic table which guides its visitors and outlines possible, relative and interpretive keys to: manifestations, design, technology and communication.
Nearby the head office of the museum, and on-line, with file-cards it’s possible to consult the information catalogue on Kartell products from 1949 to today, technological products, the materials, and the designers who collaborated with the firm.
The collections consist of prototypes, Kartell products and multi-brand objects of proto-design in plastic. Within the archives, the Kartell products, designs, photographs, production printings and catalogues are all preserved.
